The Modern Somm’s Wine Review
2011 Argyle Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley
The Modern Somm’s Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Burgundy in Oregon. Well, not Cotes de Nuits, but this is very similar in style to mid-priced Burgundys. Food-friendly and an easy drink! Don’t let the screw-top wine fool you, this is a solid wine.
What does it smell like?
Tart Cherry, Baking Spice, Dried Mushrooms and China Spice.
What does it taste like?
Tart Cherry, Black Tea and a touch of earth.
Again, this is a very food-friendly wine. This is one of those bottles that’s perfect with that dinner table full of an array of different foods.
